Lenovo ranks as the 9th biggest smartphone company in terms of global profit or market share by quarter for every fiscal year since 2010. With a net revenue of over $43 billion (2016) the company occasionally surprises the masses with brand new smartphones, tablets and laptops. Today it introduced its Lenovo Tab 4 series which had raised eye brows both among its competitors and consumers alike. Particularly the Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus (8 inches) and the Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus (10 inches) are the latest fuss in the consumer electronics market and I’m already guessing that fans of the brand are itching to get their hands on one of these babies!
But like every informed customer, people are probably wondering first about what they’ll get for their money. So let’s get under the hood of these Lenovo tablets and find out if the cost is worth the gadget.
Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus
You’ll have to shell out $260 for this tablet if you want to own one, but always look for deals on the web or your local dealer as there’s always one, and you could get a discounted price. The first thing you’ll notice about the Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus is the texture, and they come in two, by the way – ivory white and matte black. It feels good to the touch, smooth, slick and will allow for your hands and fingers to have a tighter grip on it when you carry it around. Then you’ve got the 8-inch HD display which has a 1200 x 1920 pixels resolution. You’ll enjoy video streaming with it for roughly 5 hours and you could play your favorite online games for probably much less than that; however, the HD graphics is a great trade off for the battery life.
It only has one speaker on the bottom part, but it is a high quality loudspeaker stereo, so you’ll enjoy great music too! But you can just use a headset get HD audio and plug it into its 3.5mm audio port. It comes with the 3GB RAM/16GB storage and the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variants, plus an expandable slot which add another 256GB of storage space to the internal space of the tablet. The RAM together with the Adreno 506 GPU will work hand-in-hand with the Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 chipset that sports the 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 octa-core processor. So you can push the tablet to its limits and it will just keep going as it was designed to perform at high capacity!
If that’s not enough, then you might also want to know that the Tab 4 8 Plus has 4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity which, of course, will give you an awesome web browsing experience. And if you’re an aspiring photographer or just a photo junkie, then its 8MP primary camera should help you snap some nice photos of anything you desire. Meanwhile its 5MP secondary camera is great for taking selfies or groupies if your friends decide to tag along with you. Now let’s have a look at its bigger brother, the Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus.

Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus
This may come as a surprise, but actually the Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus has almost similar specs as the Tab 4 8 Plus. Perhaps the only differences they have is their battery life, which in the Tab 4 10 Plus is much higher at 7000 mAh and the Tab 4 10 Plus has a dual loud speakers that have Dolby Atmos audio enhancement to them. Both have the same color schemes (matte black and ivory white), same screen resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels proto HD, same RAM and internal storage capacity, same chipset and CPU, etc. Other notable difference between them are the screen size which the Tab 4 10 Plus obviously has a larger display than the Tab 4 8 Plus and the Tab 4 10 Plus costs more at $382 apiece.
Between watching your favorite movies, tv shows or YouTube channels and playing online video games, streaming mp3s and web browsing; these two compact and handy powerful hand-held computers could be your ultimate companions in bringing technology everywhere you go. It is an all-in-one entertainment system within itself and you hold it in your hands. It’s just amazing how far we’ve come from the time the first transistor was built back in 1907 and now scientists are considering building A.I.s and maybe even introduce them to society for commercial use. Who knows? One could end up in one of your gadgets too someday!
