Alcatel is Making a Comeback in the Mobile Technology Industry

Alcatel was once on the top 10 list of the most competitive mobile phone companies in the world that competed against Nokia, LG, Samsung and Apple. However, Alcatel, LG and Nokia was outmaneuvered by Samsung and Apple as the 2 electronic giants raised the stakes in creating their best smartphones for which today has created the current landscape of the mobile technology trend that we see around us. Almost all of Alcatel’s products had disappeared by 2007 as Samsung and Apple dominated the market; however, in 2016 Nokia in partnership with a Chinese electronics company called, TCL Corporation, recapitalized the Alcatel brand and revived the mobile phone company. Today Alcatel has 27 different types of Android and Windows-based tablets and has once again risen to a level of competitiveness that once put the company on the map.

Let us now explore those Alcatel tablets and find out which ones are best for your kids.

Alcatel Pixi 4
This 7-inch Alcatel tablet is just the right size for your toddlers who are just beginning to learn things, and because it’s lightweight and has a high performance, watching cartoons and playing video games will be a delight once they’ll get their hands on it. Powered by a Cortex A7 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM + 8GB ROM, Mediatek MT8321 chipset and it’s also running on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) – the Pixi4 could be considered one of the best low-to-mid-tier range Android tablet around. It has got a good battery life, WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth and micro USB. You can also make a voice call on it as it has a micro sim card slot. Overall this tablet, with a few adjustments on the settings and parental controls, is good for your kids.

Alcatel Pixi Kids Tablet
Going through their archives I found a product that they’ve designed which is actually meant for children – the Alcatel Pixi Kids tablet! The first 2 things I’ve noticed and liked about the Pixi Kids Tab is that it’s small enough to allow kids to handle it with ease and it has a colorful sturdy bumper case, which makes the tablet fun to play with, but strong enough to withstand impacts from falls (in case, your kids might drop it or accidentally slam it on the wall or something). The Pixi Kids Tab runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop but you can upgrade it to the 6.0 Marshmallow. It sports a pre-loaded safe content and parental controls, customizable content according to age group, the ARM Contex-A7 Quad Core 1.3GHz processor and an MT8127 chipset. It’s less than 300 grams and has great WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity – your kids will really like it.

Alcatel Pixi 3 (8) LTE
Another thing that I noticed about Alcatel’s product line is that they variate the OS (operating system) for their smartphones and tablets to suit the needs of their customers, which is a very good strategy since they don’t have an OS of their own. One of Alcatel’s tablets that caught my attention is the Pixi 3 8 LTE which runs on the Windows 10 OS. The best thing about this tablet is the 4G LTE connectivity which makes web browsing satisfyingly fast and allows you to quickly go to any website that you want. Load times is also amazing on most sites and there’s no need to wait a few minutes to see what’s on the webpage like with old 3G and lower tablets. It also features a voice call via Bluetooth headset; it’s got a 5 megapixels primary camera and a secondary cam that’s 2 megapixels. The 8-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors is not too big for your kids as it’s just slightly wider than those 7-inchers, but it’s still handy at this size.

Alcatel Pop 10
Okay, up until this point I favored the smaller tablets than the larger ones; however, I just couldn’t let the Alcatel Pop 10 get past me. It really is an amazing tablet that I think would also be great for your kids, especially if they prefer to do multimedia tasks over other things on the tablet. The 10-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors is great for viewing movies; tv shows and play video games on. It also has the Snapdragon 410 chipset that packs the mighty Cortex-A53 1.2 GHz Quad-core processor which has a high benchmark performance. Together with the 1GB RAM + 8GB ROM and the Adreno 306 GPU they make the Pop 10 an awesome basket case of the best technological innovation of our times. The 4600 mAh battery means that it go for a long time at a single charge, which is great if you plan to use the tablet outdoors. Unfortunately, the Alcatel Pop 10 does not have a kid-proof protector case, but you can just purchase 1 at Amazon and your device will be made safe in an instant.
